First up is the song “Dheera Dheera Dheera” from superhit movie, Magadheera, starring Ram Charan Teja and Kajal, with music director M. M. Keeravani.
I only watched Magadheera for the first time this summer, but this song is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The song is melodious but dramatic at the same time. The harmonizing in the background really contributes to the drama. The hero and heroine did a great job conveying the emotions of the song.
The music video is breathtaking. The period architecture in the background sets the scene and the costumes fit in really well. Every scene’s color scheme was clearly very deliberate and the video does a great job switching between richness and simplicity. There’s not a single frame that’s not visually appealing.
Finally, the lyrics. They’re using Old Telugu words, which go really well with the video and the music. While the emotions are clear, the exact words can be hard to understand. I’m a native Telugu speaker, and even after listening to the song at least a 100 times, I didn’t fully understand what they were saying. But once I watched this video that included lyrics, I could make out the words.
